EXPERIENCE

GREENSEA SYSTEMS, Richmond, VT
Production Technician
JULY 2017 – PRESENT

Integral to the detailed and precise assembly and wiring of a wide variety of marine control and navigation devices.  Assist in the testing and configuration of those and other electronic devices and electrical components, including fiber optic gyroscopes, motor controllers, Linux-based single board computers, and custom-made PCBs.  Custom fabricate mounting devices, and alter existing devices as necessary, using our machine shop.

SELECTED CONTRIBUTIONS:
  • Developed wiring harness and assisted in writing and detailing production documentation for several complex diver navigation devices.
  • Primary support technician for our water jet boat control system.  Assisted many global customers with integration and troubleshooting often via remote access of our device and software platform.
  • Was key in successfully meeting delivery objectives of several high-priority, short time-frame production runs.
40TH ARMY BAND, VT NATIONAL GUARD, Colchester, VT
Staff Sergeant
JANUARY  2004 – PRESENT

Squad leader responsible for five soldiers, Non-Commissioned Officer In Charge of a musical performance team, and core member of several others.  Maintain an accurate inventory of several high-value electronic instruments and their associated components, and maintain a high level of proficiency on primary instrument.  Provide additional support as needed, including the research, preparation, and delivery of concert narration, MC duties, additional duties in percussion, and as unit motor sergeant.

SELECTED CONTRIBUTIONS:
  • Ensure all subordinates are trained, outfitted, and ready to accomplish the mission.  Counsel and help develop junior soldiers to meet their full potential in the military.
  • Ensure all unit assigned vehicles are in operational condition, and all personnel are properly trained to operate their assigned vehicles.
  • Have performed in over 100 concerts, parades, and ceremonies throughout the state and have represented VT around the nation.
  • Participated in the successful support of state emergency services during both Barre flooding and hurricane Irene responses in 2011.
VERMONT TECHNICAL COLLEGE, Williston, VT
Research Assistant, CubeSat Lab
JANUARY 2015 – MAY 2017

Member of hand selected team for developing spaceflight software for the Lunar IceCube mission, focusing on attitude determination and control, navigation, and ground station communication interacting with the Deep Space Network. Developed several libraries and dictionaries for use in conjunction with AMPCS in collaboration with the rest of the flight software team.

SELECTED CONTRIBUTIONS:
  • Set up virtual environment for NASA’s AMPCS ground control and communication system simulation.
  • Built our original Ada dictionary for the Blue Canyon XACT attitude determination and control module.

Helped resolve common IT problems relating to both hardware and software, upgraded college devices as necessary, and provided outstanding customer service at all times.

Interacted directly with customers, entered their motorcycle into our service system, updated the customer on progress, and effectively explained repairs done.  Maintained close attention to detail in evaluating and repairing defects, using available electronic and printed manuals as necessary, and assisted in ordering, receiving, filling, and organizing parts orders.

SELECTED CONTRIBUTIONS:
  • Assisted in building several custom motorcycle builds, including a 1970s CB350 “dragon bike” and a 1970s BMW sidecar race bike.
